Stong Like Sean

This site was created for our son, Sean diagnosed 8/08 with a medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. Sean was treated at St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. On April 3, 2010, 2 days after his 5th birthday, Sean lost his battle with cancer. We love you Sean and we are all trying hard to be "Strong like Sean".

My Story

My Story

Each step is a promise making a difference in the lives of St. Jude patients, families, doctors, and nurses who continue the fight against childhood cancer. Bless you for your good hearts. I can't thank you enough.

My Mom

We are often reminded of our church pastor's words after we told him that Sean had only a few weeks to live. He didn't say that it would be ok or that we should keep hoping for a miracle. He simply gave us a hug and said, "We will walk with you on this part of the journey." You have all walked with us and become a part of every family's journey who is battling this terrible disease. We are forever grateful for your support.

It's a proud and special day to see our community, neighbors, friends and relatives come together to donate their time and money for those in need. In our first Give Thanks. Walk., we carried Sean most of the way with our other four children by our side. We told the them that we were walking to help St Jude find cures for Sean and other kids like him. This year we walked in Sean's memory but this time I think Sean carried us.

When my mom and dad became St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Partners In Hope® years ago, they never expected that one day they would need the hospital's services. But in the summer of 2008, I was found to suffer from a brain tumor, and they knew St. Jude was the best place for my treatment.

My Cancer

My Cancer

Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in children, accounting for about 20 percent of childhood brain tumors. Fortunately with modern therapy St. Jude is able to cure a high proportion of children diagnosed.
